At Sayers Butterworth LLP, we offer a full range of services to our personal tax clients, from the completion of tax returns through to complex tax planning, for example, on the sale of a business.
Our clients range from entrepreneurs to the aristocracy and from ex-pats to retirees. Regardless of the work involved, every client is important to us and we seek to understand their affairs and aspirations. We try to maintain regular contact with all our clients in order to ensure that none of them receive a surprise tax bill. This involves preparing tax returns promptly and efficiently and, wherever possible, well before the deadline of 31 January and sometimes 30 September.
With a large number of personal clients, Sayers Butterworth LLP has a wealth of experience preparing personal tax returns. Regardless of the complexity of the work involved, every return will benefit from our staff’s experience and will undergo a thorough review before being sent for the client’s signature. Depending on the client’s circumstances, the preparation may involve checking dividends received in the year, considering all available reliefs and claims or recommending restructuring a client’s affairs for the following year.
Completion of a client’s tax return may also require the preparation of business or rental accounts. By ensuring that our staff attend regular update courses, we are able to maximise legitimate claims for business expenses that may otherwise be missed.
The Chancellor has confirmed that this year's Budget statement will be made on Wednesday 21 March.

In 2012 automatic enrolment into a pension scheme is due to come into force. On average, it will cost small businesses an extra £2,550 per year.

The next important diary date is 31 January when 2011 Tax Returns have to be submitted to HMRC to avoid an automatic £100 late filing penalty. Payments of tax are also required by this date. Do get in touch if you need any help.
