Tony MahoneyTony Mahoney

Tony is one of the firm’s three tax partners and in May 2008 he became senior partner following the retirement of David Genders. He gives expert tax advice to individuals, partnerships, trustees or corporate clients. He always enjoys a technical challenge, particularly when clients ask him to save them some tax!

Following his degree in Accountancy (Exeter), Tony qualified first as a Chartered Accountant and then as a Chartered Tax Advisor whilst at a Big 4 firm. After a five year spell at a medium-sized firm he joined Sayers Butterworth in January 1988 where he has been a tax partner ever since.

Tony enjoys life at Sayers Butterworth not only because it’s a happy and friendly firm with a good team spirit but also because it’s the right size of firm to provide clients with a personal, efficient and cost effective service. He enjoys meeting a wide variety of clients (both UK and overseas) and helping to structure their financial affairs in a tax efficient way.

Tony is married with five children, so he keeps busy outside the office as well!
