Matt Bird - Partner
Matt joined the firm in 2006, having previously spent six years at a Big 4 firm where he qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor and passed the Financial Planning certificate exams. Before joining Sayers Butterworth LLP, he worked for a large regional practice in South East England.
Matt has a wealth of experience in providing income, capital gains and inheritance tax advice to UK individuals and trustees. He has particular expertise and experience advising clients on offshore tax planning and its pitfalls. He has advised clients on areas such as remittance planning for non-UK domiciled individuals, tax efficient structure to hold UK assets, pre-arrival tax planning and the anti-avoidance rules relating to offshore trusts and companies. As a member of the tax team of our international network IEC, Matt regularly works with tax advisors around the world, as well as giving presentations on international tax issues.
Outside of the office, Matt combines a busy family life with his other interests including cooking, travelling and music.
